Your drives stay yours.
Our approach
IAMDRIVER needs location to record a drive. It does not need your email. You do not create a password. We do not sell your data.
Photos, videos, and notes you attach to a drive stay on this iPhone. Car photos stay on this iPhone. They are not uploaded.
Data we collect
- Anonymous user ID. Created by Firebase when you first open the App. It is a random id, not your name or email.
- Precise location and drive activity. The route, distance, time, speed, elevation, and related stats, so the App can record the drive and show it later. Location can update in the background while a drive is recording. The iPhone location indicator stays on.
- Motion. Used on the phone to tell driving from walking. We do not upload a raw motion stream.
- Profile and garage. Display name, username, and the cars you save (make, model, nickname, color). Car photos stay on the phone.
- Published drives. If you publish a drive, the drive, its route, your username, and a generated route image can be stored so other people can see that public drive.
- Purchase history. Whether DRIVER+ is active, through RevenueCat and Apple. We never see your card number.
- Product interaction. Events such as a drive starting or settings opening, through Firebase Analytics, so we can see how the App is used.
- Crash data. Crash and error reports through Firebase Crashlytics in released versions of the App.
- Device ID for advertising measurement. Only if you allow tracking. Used by AppsFlyer to see which campaign led to an install. If you tap Ask App Not to Track, the App still works.
We do not collect your email, phone number, contacts, health records, or payment card details.
What stays on the phone
- Photos and videos you add to a drive.
- Notes you write about a drive.
- Car photos.
Deleting the drive, or deleting the account, removes those files from this iPhone.
Why we use it
- To record, save, and show your drives and cars.
- To sync that record to your anonymous account so it is not only in one session.
- To show a public profile and published drives when you choose to publish.
- To unlock DRIVER+ and restore a purchase.
- To understand aggregate use and fix crashes.
- To measure ad campaigns, only when you allow tracking.
We do not sell personal data. Drive data is not used for advertising. The only advertising-related data is the device identifier used for install attribution when tracking is allowed.
Services we use
- Google Firebase — anonymous sign-in, cloud backup of drives and cars, analytics, and crash reports.
- RevenueCat — subscription status.
- Mapbox — maps. Map data includes OpenStreetMap.
- AppsFlyer — campaign attribution after you answer the tracking prompt.
- Apple — the App Store, payments, and the tracking prompt.
Where data lives
Drives, cars, and the anonymous id that sync are stored with Google Firebase. Those servers can be in the United States or other countries where Google operates.
A copy also stays on the iPhone, using Apple's on-device database, so a saved drive is still there without a network.
Tracking
The App asks for permission to track across apps and websites, using Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. That permission is for campaign measurement through AppsFlyer. You can refuse. IAMDRIVER still records drives if you do.
Deletion and your rights
You, Privacy & Data, Delete account removes this user and the IAMDRIVER data tied to it, on the phone and in the cloud backup, then starts the App from the beginning. It does not cancel an App Store subscription.
You can email us to ask for a copy of the data held under your anonymous id, or to correct or delete it. If you are in the EU, the UK, or California, you can also ask us to limit or object to certain processing, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Age
IAMDRIVER is not for anyone under 17. We do not knowingly keep data from anyone under 17. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top will change. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the new policy.
